You know what they say If You Go Black…

Orange is the new black? I don’t think so… Black will never go out of style!

Black is the one color that we can always depend on to be on trend and in style. The one color you can always rely on to make you feel fabulous! It’s the one color that looks good on any age and any shape!

BLUMARINE-BLK-DRESS-3

This is especially true for us New Yorkers who have been embracing this color basically since birth. We drink our coffee black, shop on black Friday and especially love to dress ourselves in black. It is a color that is often associated with death and mourning, but I think black has been given a bad rep! It is truly an iconic and classic color that can look classy, edgy, and fashion-forward all at the same time. Wearing all black can make you feel powerful and rich, or cute and funky. It has the power to make you feel chic when you are in a fashion rut. I want to help you shop smarter for black! No more buying black just to cover up and hide from the world. When wearing black, you should be standing out from the crowd, not blending in!

One of the best ways to wear black is with an LBD, aka a little black dress. Karl Lagerfeld offered some of the best advice to women when he said that “One is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a Little Black Dress.” An LBD is something that should be in every woman’s closet no matter her age, size or style. It should be a dress that can work for any occasion, and something you put on when you just want to feel beautiful. A great example would be this Alberta Ferretti black cocktail strapless dress. The shiny detailing fabric really give this dress some sex appeal without making you feel uncomfortable. You will certainly stand out from a sea of boring when you step out in this gorgeous dress!

Another option for you to consider adding to your wardrobe would be this Alexander Mcqueen Black dress. The 3/4 longer sleeves make it perfect for cooler weather, and the V-neck really elongates the neck. The best thing about this dress is its versatility. This dress could be worn to a cocktail party with a stunning pair of stilettos and diamond earrings. However, it could also be worn to an important business meeting with a blazer and black pumps. This type of dress is going to make you feel confident, strong, and sexy no matter how you wear it. I guarantee that you’ll end up wearing it over and over again without ever getting bored of it.

I think that the color black is truly magical and can change your attitude about anything. If you are having a rough day, going out wearing your LBD will make you feel lively and happy. If you are nervous about a job interview, wearing your black power suit will give you confidence and strength. If you just want to feel better about the way you look, throw on a pair of Valentino black suede heels, and I guarantee you’ll be strutting down your own personal catwalk.

No matter how much I love bright colors and patterns, I will still always be drawn to the color black. It is such a simple, yet breathtaking color and it has a big impact on anyone wearing it. It goes with almost everything you already own, and adds its own flair to your outfits.

So why not shop black?? Save the bright colors for another day and start filling your closet with this amazing, forever-Stable color.

I want to know why you love the color black! Is it the effortless beauty, or the powerful air it gives off? What is your favorite way to wear it? An LBD? Some black stilettos? Let me know!KASIA

Why Everyone Loves Oscar de la Renta

IN OSCAR DE LA RENTA WE TRUST…

When you hear the name: Oscar de la Renta, what comes into your mind?
Classic, elegant, unique, and beautiful are some words that might be worthy of describing his designs.OSCAR-0

But why does everyone really love Oscar de la Renta and the clothing that he creates? Oscar De La Renta is truly an American icon in the world of fashion. Everything he creates is a work of art. Each dress is hand beaded and embroidered to give it a unique quality you just can’t find anywhere else. His style is modern, but still has a feminine quality that appeals to many different tastes and styles.

His unique method of making clothing has enticed and intrigued women of all ages ever since he launched his first ready to wear label in 1965. Since then, De La Renta has branched out and has brought his aesthetic to the creation of his own line of shoes, accessories, perfume, home ware, and even children’s clothing. OSCAR-DRESS-00++Whether you are looking to fill your closet or decorate your home, De la Renta has what you desire.OSCAR-5

Oscar de la Renta’s designs are very well known for being popular amongst first ladies. He has dressed first ladies Nancy Ragan, Jackie O, and even Laura Bush. Hilary Clinton was perhaps the most well-known for being dressed by Oscar de la Renta and they became very close friends. Most famously she wore his dresses to her husband’s second inaugural ball, and to other political events. De la Renta really caused Clinton to become interested in fashion and to start taking risks with what she wore. Our current first lady, Michelle Obama has yet to wear any of De la Renta’s gowns, but hopefully they will collaborate together soon!OSCAR-3

Celebrities are also well known for being fans of Oscar de la Renta’s designs. If you truly want to make a statement on the red carpet, De la Renta is the designer for you. His designs are usually seen being worn by celebrities at the Oscars, Academy Awards or movie premieres. Emma Watson wore one of my favorite De la Renta designs at her final Harry Potter Movie Premiere. Jessica Chastain, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jessica Alba are also just a few other celebrities who love to embrace De la Renta designs on the red carpet. Whenever a celebrity wears a De la Renta Gown, you can be sure they will have all eyes on them!OSCAR-4+

If you won’t be walking down the red carpet anytime soon, maybe a walk down the aisle would be better suited for you to wear a gown from De la Renta. Many women dream about walking down the aisle one day wearing a stunning white De la Renta bridal gown. Oscar de la Renta puts as much beauty into his bridal dresses as he does with his red carpet gowns. Some are have very classic styles with lace sleeves and A-line skirts, but others shy away from tradition with peplum skirts, and blue tulle. They are expensive of course, but this is the only wedding day you will ever have! (Hopefully) So go ahead, splurge a little, it will be worth the money!
